Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it.
Last updated: 2 August 2026
This policy explains how VedaNumra handles your personal data. It is written to comply with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
To generate your report, we ask for:
- Your name — required for numerology, because Destiny and Soul Urge numbers are calculated from its letters.
- Your date of birth — required for both verticals.
- Birth time and birthplace — optional, used only to refine astrology readings.
- Your email address or phone number — so we can deliver your report and let you access it again later.
We also automatically collect basic technical information: device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you visit, and which advertisement or link brought you to us.
What we do not collect
We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN, bank credentials, or any other payment instrument details. Payments are handled entirely by our payment gateway. We receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, and a reference number.
How your birth details are used
Your name, date of birth, birth time, and birthplace are used for one purpose: computing and storing your report. They are kept so that you can open a report you have already paid for.
These details are deliberately excluded from our analytics and error tracking. We measure how people move through the site — which step they stop at, whether they completed a purchase — but those records never contain your name, date of birth, or phone number. This is enforced in code, not left to individual judgement.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your birth details with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing.
Who we share data with
We share the minimum necessary with service providers who help us operate:
- Our payment gateway — to process payments and refunds. They receive your contact details and the amount.
- Our hosting and database providers — who store the data on our behalf under contract.
- Our analytics provider — who receive usage events stripped of the personal details described above.
- Law enforcement — only where we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
- Your account and reports — for as long as your account exists, so you can access what you paid for.
- Payment records — retained long-term, because tax and financial record-keeping rules require it. These are kept even if you delete your account.
- Usage analytics — detailed records for up to 180 days, after which only aggregate counts remain.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete your data — except payment records we are legally required to retain.
- Withdraw consent, which means we stop processing going forward.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you cannot.
Email our support email to make any of these requests. We will respond within 2 working days and will not charge you for it.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in a database with access controls that prevent one customer’s records from being readable by another. Access to production data is limited to people who need it to operate the service.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required by law.
Children
This service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, email our support email and we will delete it.
Changes and complaints
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, contact our grievance officer, at our support email. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
